Tasmania State Nomination
requirements for Skilled Migrants

There are 2 visa subclasses available through which skilled migrants can seek state nomination:

 

  1. Subclass 190
    1. Skilled Employment Pathway: This pathway is for individuals with an employer in Tasmania that is willing to sponsor you. Your employer will need a meet specific requirement before they can proceed to sponsoring you.
    2. Skilled Graduate Pathway: This pathway is tailored for graduates who have completed a full-time course at a CRISOS registered tertiary institution in Tasmania. You’ll need to have lived here for at least two years during your studies. There is also a priority attribute list where you might be prioritized for nomination.
    3. Established Resident Pathway: If you’ve been living and working in Tasmania for three years or more, this pathway might be for you. Depending on your job’s skill level (ANZCO), you’ll need to be employed for 12 to 18 months or have recently operated a business here. This pathway is highly dependent on individual’s criteria and application process can vary greatly between different individuals. Contact us to find out more about this pathway.
    4. Overseas Applicant (Health Sector Job Offer) Pathway: This pathway is designed for overseas applicants who are working in the eligible health sector jobs. Contact us to find out more about the eligible occupations and how to apply.

     

  2. Subclass 491
    1. Skilled Employment Pathway: This pathway is for individuals with an employer in Tasmania that is willing to sponsor you. Your employer will need a meet specific requirement before they can proceed to sponsoring you. You must have also been working in Tasmania for at least six months immediately prior to your application.
    2. Skilled Graduate Pathway: This pathway is tailored for graduates who have completed a full-time course at a CRISOS registered tertiary institution in Tasmania. You’ll need to have lived here for at least one year during your studies. There is also a priority attribute list where you might be prioritized for nomination.
    3. Established Resident Pathway: If you’ve been living and working in Tasmania for two years or more, this pathway might be for you. Depending on your job’s skill level (ANZCO), you’ll need to be employed for 6 to 12 months or have recently operated a business here. This pathway is highly dependent on individual’s criteria and application process can vary greatly between different individuals.
      Tasmanian Business Operator Pathway: This pathway is for business owners who established their business and have operated the business in Tasmania for at least 12 months. There is also a list of additional requirements you and your business must meet to be eligible for this stream.
    4. Overseas Applicant (Job Offer) Pathway: This is for applicants who have received a formal job offer that is based in Tasmania and the occupation must be closely related to your nominated occupation. There is a list of additional requirements for you and your employer before both sides can be eligible for this pathway.
