Calculate your Expression of Interest points, assess your skilled migration eligibility, and discover your pathway to permanent residency in a country known for opportunity, stability and a welcoming community.
How the Points Test Works
The points test evaluates key factors such as age, English language proficiency, and skilled work experience (onshore or offshore), along with several other components.
Each factor contributes a set number of points, which together form your overall score and competitiveness in the SkillSelect pool.
Your EOI points can directly influence:
- Whether you receive an invitation to apply for a 189, 190, or 491 visa
- How quickly you may be invited
- Whether you can compete with other applicants in your occupation
- Your eligibility for state or regional nomination
A higher point score gives you a stronger chance of receiving an invitation, especially in competitive occupations.
Using Our Points Calculator
Our EOI Points Calculator provides an instant estimate of your current points based on the latest Department of Home Affairs guidelines. It’s ideal for anyone beginning their permanent residency journey or anyone wanting a clearer understanding of where they stand.
Please note that this assessment is indicative ONLY, and does NOT constitute immigration advice.
Australia’s General Skilled Migration (GSM) program uses a points-based system to assess whether an applicant has the skills, qualifications, and experience needed to contribute to Australia’s workforce.
Before you can be invited to apply for a skilled visa, you must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and meet a minimum of 65 points.
Our EOI Points Calculator helps you understand your current score and identify areas where you may be able to increase your points to strengthen your application.
